!±8± Lip Trends

But this season powerful plumpers are still around but have taken a back seat to a more subtle lip is in this summer season than we've seen in a long time. Appealing and easy looks inspired by au naturale 70's beach babes like Lauren Hutton were seen all over summer runways.

The colors are very simple and natural with a little flush of red or pink. These looks can easily be recreated simply by using Chapstick. Yes, Chapstick was used by makeup artists like Pat McGrath at several of the spring/summer shows. It does not get much trouble-free than that. If you are looking for more of a pop but want to stick with this uncomplicated trend try a gloss or balm that boasts and hint of subtle color. Keep in mind the trend leans towards a very rosy, healthy look so do not choose anything that has sparkles or glitter or that will attract attention directly at your mouth.

Choose a color that suits your skin tone. A classic pink or red in a rosy or berry color works great for fair and medium skin tones. If you'd like to take a nod at the eighties colors that flourished for spring, choose an understated coral which is also a great color that only really works in summer and is gorgeous on deep skin tones.

Some great products to look at are LipSheers and Tinted Balm products by Neutrogena which come in a variety of shades and also included SPF20. Neutrogena products are easy on the wallet so you can test different colors without breaking the bank. If you are willing to spend the extra dollar, Stila Clear Color also come in a large range of beautiful rosy, nude and coral hues that give lips just the right amount of color to stay on trend.

Before you pucker up and apply, be sure to exfoliate vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds with a toothbrush. This ensures plumper lips and a smooth application. So buy that Chapstick or tinted balm and your lips will be ready for some summer lovin.
